What do students and teachers gain from the visit?
The visit provides a concrete and practical understanding of how scientific skills are used in real life — and how radioactivity is handled safely and professionally in Denmark.
The event consists of two elements:
1. Technical presentation
A natural sciences employee talks about working with radioactivity in practice and shows how natural science disciplines such as physics, chemistry, and mathematics are part of the daily work at DD.
2. Tour of the area
During the tour, participants will have exclusive access to the storage facilities where Denmark's radioactive waste is stored. This provides a unique opportunity to experience how safety, technology, and natural science go hand in hand.
To participate in the tour, you must be at least 14 years old and wear long pants and closed shoes.
The tour lasts approximately one hour and is conducted on foot.
