Dialogue Meeting Prior to Conference on Radioactive Waste

Today, DR P4 Bornholm reports that Danish Decommissioning will not discuss technical aspects of nuclear waste publicly. For the record, we must point out that this is incorrect.

CContrary to what DR P4 Bornholm reports, DD is actively engaged in discussions concerning the technical aspects of radioactive waste, a practice we frequently undertake. This would be apparent if the interview were considered in its entirety. Moreover, we have not declined participation in the aforementioned conference on March 24; rather, we have requested a preliminary dialogue concerning, among other points, the foundational assumptions of a working paper authored by the German Öko-Institut, led by Gerhard Schmidt. Our reasoning stems from the fact that this working paper presents conclusions that we find immediately perplexing and which we have previously addressed, including in the newspaper Information.

We deem it appropriate to engage in direct dialogue with the organizers and Gerhard Schmidt regarding the technical and professional details, thereby avoiding a debate based on misunderstandings and insufficient knowledge of each other's premises. In other words, we have attempted to arrange a dialogue meeting with the organizers because we seek further clarification, as we are not aware of Gerhard Schmidt's premises for authoring his working paper.

A conference typically consists of a series of delimited presentations, and at the dialogue meeting, we wish to delve deeper into the professional subject matter than a half-day conference permits.

We therefore look forward to holding a technical and professional dialogue meeting with the conference organizers and Gerhard Schmidt on March 16th.
