Valuable advice and useful knowledge were exchanged when Danish Decommissioning hosted the semi-annual international TAG conference last week, in collaboration with Barsebäck Kraft AB.

TThe Technical Advisory Group (TAG) is a forum for state-owned enterprises involved in the decommissioning of nuclear facilities. Unlike private companies in the same sector, which must sell services, state-owned enterprises do not need to be as secretive. Thus, TAG members meet twice a year in a confidential setting to share progress and challenges.

The 35 participants in last week's conference arrived from Europe, Asia, and North America, representing a total of 14 different OECD countries. From Monday to Wednesday, the conference took place at the Scandic Palace Hotel in central Copenhagen, after which it was time to visit the core subject – the decommissioning projects. On Thursday, the tour proceeded to Barsebäck, and to conclude a packed yet productive week, participants were given a tour of the Risø peninsula on Friday.
