Oct 08 Total consultancy for new storage facility tendered

We are now looking for a full service adviser to the task of designing and constructing a new upgraded storage facility for the radioactive waste on Risø.

DDanish Decommissioning has just tendered the contract as full service adviser for the construction project. The tender notice states, among other things:

• The storage facility must have an area of 6-10,000 square meters and a building height of up to 15 meters above ground.
• The floor must be at least 4 metres above sea level (kote +4) so that the building is high-water proof.
• One part of the building becomes a closed building with climate protection, while another part becomes a so-called cold barn (a covered area).
• The whole thing will have the same façade and appear as one building. It must be machined architecturally so as to minimise the visual impact, without sacrificing the safety, technical and operational requirements of the building.
