01 Jul Open House 2025 – Registration is closed

Danish Decommissioning is once again hosting an open house at Risø this year. The date is August 21, 2025.

Get up close to the nuclear facilities and simultaneously learn how we store and manage Denmark's radioactive waste, and decommission the facilities at Risø, when Danish Decommissioning hosts its open house.

It will take place on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

The guided tour itself will take us around the part of the Risø peninsula where the buildings that housed the nuclear facilities are located, and where Danish Decommissioning's work is currently carried out.

We will also visit selected storage facilities where Denmark's radioactive waste is stored.

This is a 3-kilometer tour, and the entire tour will take place outdoors, so please remember appropriate footwear and clothing suitable for the weather.

Practical Information
Participation in the 2025 open house is free of charge.

There is a maximum number of 75 participants, and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants must be at least 14 years old to enter the storage facilities.

The guided tour takes place outdoors.

The guided tour is approximately 3 km.

Upon arrival at Risø, you will be greeted by a DD employee at the gate, where you will be 'checked in'.

Please allow 15 minutes for check-in at the gate and for driving from the gate to Danish Decommissioning.

As we will be entering and viewing the storage facilities, closed-toe shoes and long trousers are required.

Evening Program:
• 5:00 PM – Presentation, ”About Danish Decommissioning” by Danish Decommissioning's Director, Steen Nordstrøm
• 5:30 PM – Guided tours in groups
• 7:00 PM – Sandwiches and Q&A
• 7:30 PM – Farewell

Registration is now closed, as 75 participants have registered.
If you have registered for the Open House, you will receive further information by email closer to the Open House date.

Participation is free of charge.

There is a maximum number of 75 participants and places will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you are unable to attend after registering, we would appreciate it if you would contact us to cancel your registration so that another person can take your place.
