Open House 2025 at Danish Decommissioning was a success

More than 70 people made their way past Danish Decommissioning, Thursday August 21st, when they were invited to Open House 2025.

Theunique combination of the decommissioning of the nuclear facilities at Risø, combined with the management of Danish radioactive waste, is a societal task that interests many.

Most clearly illustrated by the fact that Danish Decommissioning DD again this year had to fill all seats at this year's open house.

There is room for 75 guests in DD's largest room, and all the chairs were filled when Steen Nordstrøm, CEO of Danish Decommissioning, welcomed and explained the history behind Risø, DD's tasks and the future perspectives for Danish radioactive waste.

Around the area
After the presentation, the many attendees were divided into 3 groups, each with at least 2 guides consisting of different DD employees, and then it was time to get around the part of the scenic Risø, where DD performs its tasks.

The tour took about an hour and a half, during which the visitors saw the Hot Cells facility, the building that previously housed DR2 as well as the low-active and buffer storage facility.

The evening's event ended with a sandwich and throughout the event there was plenty of opportunity to ask and get answers to questions.

A big thank you to the attendees who had set aside an evening to visit.
