Preliminary studies for final depot completed

Conclusions and recommendations from the preliminary studies are published on the Ministry of Home Affairs and Health website. Among other things, 22 suitable areas are identified and recommended 6 for the location of the depot. The extensive material has now been handed over to an interministerial working group to continue to work on the establishment and location of the final depot. Press briefings are held at DD Thursday 5 May at 10 a.m., where detailed questions of a technical nature can be asked to DD , SIS and GEUS, as well as select facilities.

F The feasibility studies for the final depot for radioactive waste have now been completed. On Wednesday 4 May, representatives from the Folketing were presented with the conclusions of the feasibility studies at a meeting of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Health with the participation of the three contributors.

It will be possible to ask detailed questions of a technical nature to DD , SIS and GEUS during a press briefing held at DD , Frederiksborggade 399, Roskilde. Attendance must be made no later than 9.45.

The three preliminary studies cover:

  • DD : Storage concepts (waste, safety analysis and economy)
  • SIS: Transport studies
  • GEUS: Geological studies of suitable Danish sites for the depot
