29 Jun Guided tours of the Risø area
On the upcoming three Thursdays in July, you can take a guided tour of the Risø area and gain an impression of the former research center. The tours will be conducted regardless of weather conditions on the following dates: July 3rd, July 10th, and July 17th. Registration is required.
TTours of the Risø area run from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and are guided by Danish Decommissioning's communication advisor. Along the way, you will learn about the history of the research center until its decommissioning, and what transpired in the various buildings we pass. Among others, we will pass the three reactor buildings, the laboratories, and the fuel rod production hall. We will also explain our mission and the progress we have made in decommissioning the experimental facilities.
The tours take place outdoors, and we will not enter the buildings. There are no specific dress code requirements, but we will be walking a fair amount, so please wear comfortable footwear.
With very few exceptions, photography is permitted throughout the Risø area. The scenery is beautiful, and the birdlife in Bløden Nor and the fjord is rich and varied, so feel free to bring a camera and/or binoculars.
Registration with all participants' names no later than the day before by phone at 4633 6300 or email at aabenthus@dekom.dk
Maximum 10 participants per tour.
