16 Dec ERDO Meeting at DD

On December 13th and 14th, DD hosted the ERDO working group. In this forum, representatives from various European countries meet on a rotational basis to discuss the potential for a common waste solution.

EERDO's members are predominantly smaller nations, all of whom are in the nascent stages of identifying a national solution for waste disposal. Consequently, it is prudent to concurrently explore the opportunities and constraints associated with a shared disposal strategy, particularly for long-lived radioactive waste.

In addition to an update on each of the national programmes, the agenda included knowledge sharing on other European and international forums addressing related issues. Participants could then discuss and coordinate future initiatives to best safeguard the interests of ERDO countries concerning responsible waste management.
