July 17 Open House 2024 – Registration closed as maximum capacity has been reached.
Danish Decommissioning is once again hosting an open house at Risø this year. The date is August 14, 2024.
Get an up-close look at the historic nuclear facilities and at the same time learn more about how we store and manage Denmark's radioactive waste, as well as decommission the facilities at Risø, when Danish Decommissioning hosts its open house event.
It will take place on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, from 5:00 PM.
The guided tour itself will take us around the part of the Risø peninsula where the buildings that housed the nuclear facilities are located, and where Danish Decommissioning's work is currently carried out.
We will also visit selected storage facilities where Denmark's radioactive waste is stored.
This is a 3-kilometer tour, and the entire tour will take place outdoors, so please remember appropriate footwear and clothing suitable for the weather.
Practical Information
Participation in Open House 2024 is free of charge.
There is a maximum number of 75 participants, and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants must be at least 14 years old to join the guided tour.
The guided tour takes place outdoors.
The guided tour is approximately 3 km.
Upon arrival at Risø, visitors will be greeted by a DD employee at the gate, where they will be 'checked in'.
Please allow 15 minutes for check-in at the gate and travel from the gate to Danish Decommissioning.
Evening program:
- 17:00 – Presentation, “About Danish Decommissioning”
- 17:30 – Guided tour in groups
- 19:00 – Sandwich
- 19:30 – Thank you for today
