
Mar 05 Steen Nordstrøm takes over as CEO of Danish Decommissioning
As of March 15, 2025, Steen Nordstrøm will take over as CEO of Danish Decommissioning DD
SteenNordstrøm comes from a position as Head of Office for Intelligence and Cyber in the Ministry of Defense.
Before that, Steen Nordstrøm was for a number of years office manager at The Danish Emergency Management Agency, responsible for nuclear preparedness, which is one of DD's two regulatory authorities.
Steen Nordstrøm's educational background is a master's degree in political science from Aarhus University and a master's degree in political science from the University of Washington.
An exciting future
DD, and radioactive waste, is not a new world for Steen Nordstrøm, who has in-depth knowledge of the area from his time as Head of Nuclear Emergency Response at The Danish Emergency Management Agency.
Therefore, it is also with a great understanding of the area that Steen Nordstrøm joins, and in this connection he looks forward to an exciting future in DD:
"I'm looking forward to getting started with the exciting work that lies ahead of us at Danish Decommissioning and to contributing to the unique social task of managing Denmark's radioactive waste safely and with the involvement of relevant stakeholders. There are many interesting tasks ahead, both with the continued strengthening of societal safety around radioactive waste, the new upgraded storage facility, and the work on the final repository that will house Denmark's radioactive waste by 2073 at the latest."
