13 Sep A fresh perspective on the work environment
The annual event, where Danish Decommissioning's employees engage in a shared activity, was this time conducted in surroundings that were both familiar and novel.
NNo bus awaited the employees when they arrived for DD Day on Friday, September 8th. All activities for the day took place on-site, but it was far from an ordinary workday. Instead, each employee was to experience the tasks of two other colleagues.
The director was thus instructed on the most effective method for checking newly washed work environment clothing for radioactivity. The craftsman gained insight into the mysteries of Excel, while the IT supporter had to handle a small, radioactive object through the thick shielding of the glove box. The health physicist was dressed in an airtight suit to sandblast contaminated paint off old metal grids. Consequently, all participants had the opportunity to step out of their usual roles and experience the workplace from a different perspective.
