A fresh look at the workplace

The annual day when Danish Decommissioning staff meet for a joint activity was this time held in what were at once familiar and unfamiliar surroundings.

I No bus waited when employees showed up to DD -the day friday, September 8th. For all the day's activities took place in their own premises, but it was far from an ordinary everyday life. Instead, each employee had to try his hand at the duties of two other colleagues.

Thus, the director was taught how to most effectively check the newly washed workwear for radioactivity. The craftsman gained insight into Excel's mysteries, while the IT supporter had to handle a small, radioactive object through the thick shielding of the glove box. The health physicist was donned an airtight suit to sandbblast contaminated paint of old metal grilles. So everyone had the opportunity to get out of the familiar roles and experience the workplace through other glasses.
