Government has taken a position on long-term solution

The Government has taken a position on the long-term solution for radioactive waste and has today informed the education and research spokespersons of the political parties about which proposed solution the Government wishes to pursue political negotiations on.

IIn essence, the government proposes that the radioactive waste at Danish Decommissioning continues to be stored at Risø, in upgraded facilities, for up to an additional 30 – 50 years. During the storage period, possibilities for exporting the special waste will continue to be explored.
