Citizens' meeting on new storage facility

Attend the public meeting and open house on November 11th regarding the new, upgraded storage facility to be constructed at Risø. Denmark's radioactive waste will be stored here until no later than 2073.

Danish Decommissioning invites you to a public meeting on Monday, November 11, from 7 PM to approximately 9 PM at Risø. The primary purpose of the meeting is to solicit your suggestions for topics that should be assessed in an upcoming report on the environmental consequences of the new storage facility. Before the meeting, there will be an open house with guided tours.

Programme

5 PM – 7 PM: Danish Decommissioning hosts an open house and offers guided tours to, among other things, the current storage facilities, the desired location of the new storage facility, and the now covered bunkers containing uranium ore.

7 PM – 9 PM: Public Meeting. It begins with a series of short presentations from, among others, the Mayor of Roskilde, the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, and Danish Decommissioning. Here, the project, the processes for the environmental impact assessment and the local plan respectively, an overall timeline, and your opportunities for involvement will be presented. After the presentations, you can circulate among the various stands and inquire about different topics. This will be followed by a joint wrap-up.

Registration

For security and logistical reasons, registration is mandatory. You may choose to participate in both the guided tour and the public meeting, or only one of the components. Registration must be completed via the form below by Wednesday, November 6. Participants will receive an email with practical information prior to the event. This will be dispatched once the registration deadline has passed.
